SYRUP CONTUSSIN

For 30 ml bottles:

  • Pseudoephedrin.HCl: 90 mg
  • Dextromethorphan.HBr: 45 mg
  • Chlorpheniramin maleate: 6 mg
  • Sodium benzoate: 300 mg
  • Excipients (sugar, Amarant color, strawberry flavor, pure water) q.s.p 30 ml
  • Treatment the symptoms of upper respiratory diseases such as allergic rhinitis and vasomotor rhinitis, common cold and influenza.
  • Patients with a history of intolerance with drug or any component of the drug.
  • Patients with severe hypertension or severe coronary artery disease.
  • Patients who have or are taking IMAO within 2 weeks before. Co-administration Pseudoephedrine with the drug sometimes cause of increase hypertension.
  • Do not use in following patients: Patients with or at risk of respiratory failure, patients with cough accompanied by asthma or cough accompanied by excessive phlegm, patients with glaucoma, enlarged prostate, narrow urethra.
  • 3 times/ day, by teaspoon (equivalent 5ml)
  • Adult and children above 12 years old: 3 teaspoon/time.
  • For 6- 12 years old: 2 teaspoon/time.
  • For 2-5 years old: 1 teaspoon/ time.
  • For 6 months to under 2 years old: ¼ - ½ teaspoon/ time.
  • There may be cases of inhibition or stimulation of central nervous system which drowsiness, dizziness and vertigo are more frequent.
  • Very rarely: nausea, vomiting, dizziness and gastrointestinal disorders may occur.
  • Inform your doctor of any undesirable effect during treatment.
  • Co-administration with sympathomimetic agents (decongestants, tricyclic antidepressants, central nervous system stimulant) or with IMAO due to risk of hypertension.
  • Do not co-administer with sedative, alcohol (which can cause agitation in children or cause drowsiness).
  • The drug may reverse partially the effects of drugs with sympathetic activity such as brestylium, béthanidin, guanéthidin, méthyldopa và agents a và b adrenergic inhibitors.
  • Be careful when using drugs for patients with hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, liver and / or kidney dysfunction.
  • Drugs can cause drowsiness and affect your hearing tests.
  • Avoid co- administration with alcohol or sedative with effect on central nervous system.
  • Safety for use during pregnancy has not been established. Therefore, drugs should be used only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the possible risks to fetus. In particular, drug should not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy, because it can lead to serious reactions (eg: seizures) in new born infant.
  • Drugs excreted in breast milk, consideration should be taken to stop breastfeeding or stop taking the drug.
  • Drugs can cause drowsiness, lethargy, do not use for drivers, machinery operator, or who are working requires alertness.
  • Symptoms: Drowsiness, tachycardia, hypertension, hyperactivity, stimulates, nausea, vomiting.
  • Treatment: Appropriate supportive and maintaining measures for respiration and convulsion control shoud be taken.
  • Do not use after the expiration date shown on the box or if you have doubt about the quality of drugs.
